SAP Kanban (PP-KAB) is still underused. You can use Kanban systematically as part of a comprehensive Lean Manufacturing methodology. You can also use it, e.g. the event-driven Kanban, as flexible pragmatic tool to simplify repetitive procurement processes.
I was in touch with the Kanban functionality at SAP AG from the beginning and later responsible for it as Development Manager.

I provided concepts and add-on development for Kanban with external procurement for SMA Solar, especially for Kanban with quota arrangements for multi-sourcing.
