MRP Areas

Universal Data Converter (UDC)

The Universal Data Converter (UDC) of T-Systems is a certified SAP Partner Solution for seamless integration of product (Bill of Materials) and process data (activities and Line Design) in SAP.

I provide development and consulting services for customer specific adaptions of the UDC solution

rule-based conversion of Engineering Bill of Material (EBOM) to Manufacturing BOM (MBOM)
trigger-based mass synchronisaton of EBOM changes to the MBOM
automatic adjustment of production orders and network activities to changes in the MBOM
dialog transaction with hierarchical display of EBOM and MBOM, rules, production orders, network activities and exception messages with interactive changes of rules, production orders and network activities by drag&drop

Data Migration Production Orders

My methodoloy and migration reports for partially confirmed production orders were sucessfully used in multiple Go-Lives with different customers and source systems.

I cannot promise you a fully automatic migration of all possible production orders from the source system but I can offer a proven, robust and transparent approach with a combination of automatic restartable migration steps and user-friendly status reporting and exception handling.

Kanban

SAP Kanban (PP-KAB) is still underused. You can use Kanban systematically as part of a comprehensive Lean Manufacturing methodology. You can also use it, e.g. the event-driven Kanban, as flexible pragmatic tool to simplify repetitive procurement processes.

I was in touch with the Kanban functionality at SAP AG from the beginning and later responsible for it as Development Manager.

I offer consulting for concepts, customizing, implementation and optimization of SAP Kanban.

I provided concepts and add-on development for Kanban with external procurement for SMA Solar, especially for Kanban with quota arrangements for multi-sourcing.

BAPI, BAdI and API for MRP and demand planning

I was responsible for MRP development at SAP AG in Walldorf from 1993-2007, first as Developer than as Development Manager. This also included development of the BAPI, BAdI and API for MRP run, MD04 and demand planning. So I have uniquely deep technical and application knowledge about these topics.

Planning transactions for Make-to-Project

I implemented powerful planning applications for multi-level-planning and production of complex machinery for Siemens AG, Energy Sector: hierarchical display of sales requirements and their multi-level BOM explosion and planning situation. Planners, MRP controller, Project and Sales Manager use it to view and maintain confirmation dates and comments on requirement level. Multi-Level delay information and master data issues (e.g. missing BOMs or routings) is highlighted. With extensive navigation options to the various business objects and exception statistics .
